Single Object
Patterns

Welcome!

Here you’ll find a collection of three series of work which I have created within the past two years. Each series has been built upon each other and presented me with new ideas which I have then explored. The one factor which unifies each series is my love for representation and my focus on true depiction.

My first series created was a declaration of my fascination with single, everyday objects. At that time, I found interest in the simplicity of a flat colored background paired with a sole voluminous object which occupied a shallow space. From this I learned I had a love for complexity and appreciation for the abstract qualities in which I was seeing. Moving on, I chose to utilize mirrors to abstract both the objects and the space further. This series then influenced my current venture to solely use my abilities of design to create still lifes that present abstract qualities while remaining to be painted directly from life. My goal is to utilize these qualities and transform shallow still lifes into spacious landscapes. It is the fusion of three dimensional form and two dimensional abstract design that allows me to create these new worlds which directly relate to our own, but are experienced in new, fresh ways.

I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thank you!
